The series was founded in late 2020 by international violin star Max Baillie to bring world-class live music to St Leonards and Hastings.
So far he has programmed music ranging from classical (from Bach to Kodaly and Bartok) to experimental electronic and sound installation. The long-term vision includes both regular concerts and a festival, embracing a wide range of musical genres, performances and related events.
Each of St Leonards Concerts has been sold out with rave reviews in the local press. Max has collaborated with musicians of international renown such as BBC Young Musician cellist Laura van der Heijden, acclaimed violist Hélène Clément (Doric Quartet) and electronic sound artist Vahakn Matossian, alongside local electronic experimental duo Port&Starboard. For upcoming concerts he has a stellar lineup of international artists from both his own professional community and beyond.
